About HRUBA

We are a group of Baptist churches found in the greater Halifax/Dartmouth area of Nova Scotia, also reaching to Mount Uniacke and Elmsdale. Membership is open to all local Baptist Churches in this geographic area.

We are affiliated with the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada and also support the Canadian Baptist Ministries.

As an association we seek to encourage one another in the ongoing ministries of the Halifax Region as well as in the Maritimes and elsewhere.

Stronger Together - Encouraging One Another in Local Ministry

Our Mission:

The mission of the Association is to encourage the Churches to:

Obey the Great Commandment – “....the Lord our God, the Lord is one.  Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all you mind and with all your strength....Love your neighbour as yourself." (March 12: 29b-31a)

Fulfill the Great Commission – Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I will be with you always, to the very end of the age” (Matthew 28:18‑20).

Preserve the unity of the church – “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit – just as you were called to one hope when you were called – one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all” (Ephesians 4:3‑6)

“The Association will fulfill its mission

                     by being a fellowship-based organization,

                providing resources and equipping opportunities

for Member Churches to fulfil their missions.”
