February 2021 Letter To Churches

HRUBA Family of Churches

Greeting on behalf of Council. Navigating this Pandemic together and all the challenges it brings, may we be ever mindful of God’s presence within us and around. Jeremiah 29: 11-13 come to mind in this difficult time. God promises to always be with us, providing and protecting us. If there is anything that HRUBA Council can be to help your ministry and/or church family, please contact us. We are just an email away.

Thank you for your continued prayer and financial support throughout 2020. We, your council, appreciate your contribution to God's ongoing work we do together within our region. With your help, we were able to meet our commitments in 2020.

HRUBA dues for 2021 remain the same as 2020: $16.00 per resident member. (To be ratified at our AGM). Your resident membership is ???, so the yearly contribution for your church family is $???.00. (If your membership # is different from ours, please let us know as these figures help us determine our Budget). Cheques should be made out to HRUBA and mailed to: HRUBA, PO Box 20034, Spryfield PO, Halifax, NS, B3R 1VO. You can now e-transfer your dues and other contributions to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. These dues support the on-going ministries we do together as a family of churches: Bayside Camp and Retreat Center, Hospital Chaplaincy, and Home Missions.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we have had to postpone our Annual General Meeting which will now be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 @ 7pm. It will be totally virtual and “Business Only”. Please note this change. Preregistration will be required. More details to follow as we get geared up for this. We need a quorum as there will be 2020 Annual Reports and Financial Statements to adopt, the Budget presented for 2021; Constitutional changes to discuss and vote on plus a New Member church to welcome: God’s Army Community Fellowship in Eastern Passage. The Executive/Advisory Team are recommending some significant changes to the By-Laws that will make Council more streamlined and effective.
In the Fall, we are planning an “Inspirational Day” with Rev. Dr. Stewart Blythe, the John Gladstone Associate Professor of Preaching and Worship at Acadia Divinity College.

Association Licensing Committee:
On Saturday, March 6 will be holding interviews for candidates for Association Licenses (new or renewing). Please contact Rev Darren Millet at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by February 27th, to schedule a time.

Please make special note our address changes. This letter should be copied and given to all your admin staff, groups and committee chairs.

May God bless our ministry together.
